Communion & Confirmation Season the month of May!!!
Come September each year most bouncy castle companies are starting to come to a sudden halt! Some operators close down for the winter and go back to employment while other companies mostly people who are full time still do jobs over the winter season!
They get by with Christmas events & Halloween and even still kids parties in hall but its a much smaller scale than compared to the summer season.
Nothing hurts more than been out in the rain, wind and snow until you get that phone call. Yeah you know the one "Have you any bouncy castles available for 2nd or 3rd weekend in May". Bringing the person on the phone literally to tears.. Why cant you just let me enjoy the winter freedom in peace..
Its like getting kicked in the n....!! Yeah I said it! That one phone call is then followed up with more people usually from the one school who went and got there dates sent out early!
At this stage like a scene out of Lord of the Rings at the Battle of Helms Deep "So it begins" as a metaphor for the next year communion season stress has started already!
Usually the second & third weekend in May is usually the busiest weekends of the year, nearly every school will have it organized between these days.
Cramming everything into this two weekend time period stresses out the parents who have to try sort everything out. Cakes, clothes, balloons, marquees, family & friends clean the house. The book a hotel or hall go out for dinner and the list goes on and on!
From a bouncy castle company point of view its brilliant loads of work in fact its actually turns into too much work and you have to keep on track of it very quickly or mistakes happen!
If you haven't methods down or don't come organized you will be known as the bouncy castle company who ruined the day. Which is not a great look, but I know from dealing with lots of Dublin & other bouncy castles companies all over Ireland that they do try their very best to keep on track and update to avoid these mistakes happening.
We have at the start personally made mistakes double booked, some one thinking they booked but only asked questions and enquired but booked with other companies. We have been short mats, extension leads, castles, blowers stopping happens maybe 1 out of 200 hires, disco lights been left in rain been damaged blowing speakers as having the music too loud, staff quitting with long hours or not showing up at all, vans break down on the jobs, no pegs, late on drop off times you name it and we usually get there in the end we have never actually let any one down, we have offered a replacement. Tried get any equipment from another company which is why you need to have a network of friends and helpers local that you work together.
We have learned the best way to book is online through our amazing booking online system its literally first class! We wouldn't be anywhere as big without it been used. Stops double bookings, sends customer price, days, access information, surface is correct and confirmation/remainder emails so peace of mind for all our valuable customers.
All been said its a great business to been in, its really tough, long hours but also very rewarding! Until next time over and out.
